Description: The OUTFALLS (OF) layer is designed to serve as an up-to-date inventory for displaying and monitoring where City stormwater conveyance structures outfall into Georgia Waters of the State. Points are specified with the hope of ensuring that all stormwater outfalls leading directly to a state waterway will be inspected for conveyance and water quality standards at least once within the 5-year National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit cycle. Other points not leading directly to a state waterway are specified with the hope of ensuring that larger conveyance structures will be inspected to ensure drainage systems within City limits are operating normally. Outfalls classified as "WET" or are not directly accessible are provided with a field screening (FS) at the closest accessible upstream inspection point. The City Stormwater Management Division is required to inspect outfall structures regularly to maintain permit compliance. Inspections are conducted at a frequency of 20 percent of the total inventory per year. THIS LAYER IS EDITED REGULARLY. IT IS AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC UPON REQUEST OF THE DATA OWNER/EDITOR.
