description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><P><SPAN>This data is used to represent the location of current, historical, and estimated septic systems in the Vernon River watershed. Due to the low elevation of the Vernon River watershed it is possible for individual septic systems to malfunction and contribute to increased bacterial flow into the impaired waterway. This data will be used to monitor and explore possible sources of bacterial influence into the Vernon River watershed. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P><P><SPAN>The estimated septic systems are determined if the property owners do not pay for sewer service. The data include addresses of confirmed septic systems and estimated septic systems based on whether the owner of the property is unbilled for water/sewer services. The data also includes the municipality in which the property is located. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P><P><SPAN>Note this data is not perfect and may be incomplete/missing septic systems. There are septic systems that are not within reach of connecting to the City of Savannah water system. There are septic systems that are within reach and should be connected to the City of Savannah water and sewer. There are unknown sites where it is unclear whether the property has a septic system.
