description:

This dataset was created to monitor the water quality of the Vernon River and its tributaries watershed for bacterial influence during wet weather sampling. The polygons in this layer represent subwatersheds in a hydraulic model, that was used, in conjunction with a large volume of FIB samples to estimate the average loading from each subwatershed during wet weather. The units of FIB for each polygon subwatershed are given in 109 MPN/acre-day. Wet weather was defined as antecedent rainfall within 72 hours of sampling. The hydraulic modeling was done using EPA SWMM5 with PCSWMM software from Computational Hydraulics International.

Note: Field descript and CFU billions per acre per day were calculated by ((concentration times flow rate)/ contributing area)

For methods and analysis refer to the Vernon River Watershed Management Plan, Savannah, Georgia 2022 https://www.ogeecheeriverkeeper.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Revised-WMP-Vernon-River-2023.pdf

THIS LAYER IS EDITED REGULARLY.
