Description: The area depicted indicates portions of our water distribution system where, based on the current system characteristics, special planning is necessary to provide for water main flushing while still maintaining adequate level of service for all customers. City of Savannah Water Resources Department has developed the following protocol for private entities to request approval for flushing of water mains in our distribution system. The purpose of this protocol is to ensure that there is a process by which flushing activities can be planned and approved while also ensuring that level of service and operational readiness for the needs of all our customers is continually maintained. This protocol supersedes any previous processes or protocols for communicating flushing activities with City of Savannah Water Resources. This protocol covers the request for flushing water mains. The process of flushing the water mains must separately abide by City of Savannah Specifications (SECTION 02550 - WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM).

Description: This layer was created based on the proximity of areas to the current gravity sewer mains. These areas are beyond the reach of the current sewer system and will consequently necessitate further investigation to assess sewer availability. The purpose of this layer is to prompt water resources review of City sewer service availability for customers seeing building permits prior to issuance. In some cases, the City may not be able to facilitate sewer service or service may require unique consideration that need to be discussed prior to permit issuance. Edited as Needed
